Students in Cambodia struggle with access to high quality educational materials in Khmer, their native language. Currently, access to educational material is limited to conventional media platforms and most schools lack student support services. Due to the high growing rate of internet users in Cambodia, Limkosal (Kosal) started AHLADANG to bridge the gap between Cambodian students and a high quality Khmer education with an easily accessible online platform, which provides educational information and mentorship to students.

Five-Year Project Goals:

  • Scale up the business to become an online platform providing classes to teach languages and soft skills

Organization Information: AHLADANG

AHLADANG.com offers Cambodian students information about scholarship opportunities, offers scholarship preparation and application tips, English language learning tips and guidance, study tips, and mentors to help students achieve their goals. AHLADANG is especially useful for students in rural areas who cannot afford high quality education, but still hope to apply for university scholarships. The online mentorship program is free for underprivileged students who cannot afford the costs of a private tutor or mentor. The website also provides English language instruction to encourage AHLADANG students to apply for scholarships, especially at universities abroad. Kosal used grant funding for initial development and maintenance of the website and marketing, which helped to gather over 128,000 Facebook followers.
