Khairul is a Bachelor Science (Hons) Microbiology degree holder graduated from University Putra Malaysia. After graduating, he starting to work as a Research Assistant at Faculty of Biotechnology & Biomolecular Sciences involving in the microbial enzyme for bioretting of natural fibres project. Enthusiastic in entrepreneurship and microbiological science, Khairul later on decided to join Acet Innovates Pte. Ltd in September 2016 and working collaboratively with Assoc. Prof Dr. Wan Zuhainis Saad, Prof Dr.Paridah Md Tahir and Assoc. Prof Dr. Rosfarizan Mohamad. Since natural fibres industry in Malaysia is quite new and still developing progressively, Khairul saw an opportunity to commercialise the enzyme to be used in natural fibres retting process to hasten the process. He believes the extensive usage of natural fibres instead of synthetics one can lead to a greener and sustainable future. Currently, he is also pursuing his Ms. Degree in Microbial Biotechnology at University Putra Malaysia.

Acet Innovates Pte. Ltd was established in May 2016 as a Universiti Putra Malaysia start-up company. This is 100% Malaysian owned company consisting of the researchers and technoprenuers. The objective of the company is to be the pioneer in production and manufacturing of enzymes for the extraction process of natural fibres industry.

Acet’s mission is to make the process of acquiring natural fibres easier for the natural fibres industry by using the approach of biotechnology to help solve problems encountered during the process of extracting the fibres. If our company can make the process of acquiring natural fibres easier, then the usage of natural fibres as an eco-friendly and biodegradable materials can be implemented in various industries.
