Carm currently works as a Natural Resource Management Officer for the Department of Agriculture of the Government of the Philippines, with specific concentration on coastal management. She earned her undergraduate degree in Political Science and History from the University of the Philippines Visayas. She is also currently working on her Master's in Marine Affairs degree from the same university. She is passionate about environmental protection and human development, hence, her project Squid&Whale aims to promote both. Using what she learned through YSEALI  in 2017, Carm helps capacitance local governments to implement blue-green economy projects in her home country

Squid&Whale is a start-up that aims to promote education and conservation of wildlife through print media. We sell postcards and posters through partners in key biodiversity areas with an established presence of tourism infrastructure. Profits of this social enterprise go to community-based organizations directly impacting biodiverse regions with their grassroots-level organizing and projects.
