Organization Information: Girl-LEAD Project

Young women and girls in Nigeria and around the world are faced with inadequate entrepreneurial education and are lacking in technology fields. Girl-LEAD Project aims to create more female change makers by empowering girls and young women with social entrepreneurship and technological skills in order to develop their potential to make a positive impact in society. The organization provides a competent, accessible and affordable platform where girls and young women in high school and colleges can acquire leadership, entrepreneurial and technological skills so that they can follow their dreams of becoming change makers in the world.

The organization plans workshops to teach tech skills such as computer programming, digital marketing, and graphic design in order to help young women break into technology fields. The workshops also cover skills like leadership and project management, which are universal skills young women can adapt to any job field. After completing the workshops, participants are certified and offered the opportunity to gain hands-on experience using newly acquired tech skills. The Girl-LEAD Project also offers mentoring services to new social entrepreneurs starting up their businesses for the first time.
