As the founder of C-HOME, Safaa uses her social enterprise to empower people to improve their lives in economic, social and environmentally sustainable ways. She believes that her organization can support the development of Morocco by creating an ecofriendly solution to solve temporary housing problems on construction sites in Rabat.

Five-Year Project Goals:

  • During the organization’s first year, equip twenty construction sites with C-HOME temporary housing to improve the living conditions of construction workers
  • Offer an affordable product, allowing construction workers and their families more disposable income
  • Reduce construction site trash caused by current temporary housing
  • Build ecofriendly shelters in order to reduce energy needed for air conditioning

Organization Information: C-HOME

C-HOME is working to create a sustainable solution to address temporary housing problems in Rabat, Morocco by developing a lightweight construction material made from recycled cardboard. Developing the new building material is a competitive solution that also has the opportunity to create more jobs. The organization aims to provide affordable and practical temporary housing on construction sites to improve living conditions of workers. C-HOME will accomplish their goal by working on improving temporary housing laws for construction workers regarding their assigned temporary housing, while also equipping construction sites with healthy, ecofriendly and durable temporary housing that meets the needs of construction workers for an affordable price.
