Thousands of Tunisian youth are leaving home to become terrorists for organizations like ISIS, causing serious concerns about university students who excel in medicine, physics, chemistry, and electrical engineering joining terrorist groups who benefit from their knowledge of making bombs and other explosives. Fighting terrorism is not only done by the military; Tunisia needs to stop terrorist recruitment and encourage Tunisian youth to help society. Rabiaa’s I Am Tunisia Ambassador inspires university students to be more engaged in civic life by providing them with the opportunity to express themselves in a healthy environment, to strengthen their sense of belonging to their country and to be a weapon of progress rather than a weapon of destruction.

Organization Information: I Am Tunisia Ambassador

I Am Tunisia Ambassador hosts workshops to bring together Tunisian young leaders to provide a place to share love for Tunisia, empower each other through mutual encouragement, and establish networks. The organization’s mission is to export a positive image of Tunisian youth around the world while reducing the number of Tunisian youth exported to terrorist groups. Workshop participants become ambassadors of Tunisian youth by participating in international exchange programs, becoming international athletes or make international connections in other ways. The organization creates a network of international ambassadors who all work towards the goal of reinventing the world’s perception of Tunisian youth and decreasing the number of Tunisian youth aiding terrorist groups.
